Knoxville started the match with strong forward play. Repeated penalties by Chattanooga and excellent kicking by Ed Everett put the Possums in prime scoring position to jump out to a quick 10-0 lead. Chattanooga came back to tie the match with a converted breakaway try and a penalty kick. After ‘Nooga knotted the score again at 17, the Possums began to run downhill and closed the door late in the match with a pushover try.

What better way to celebrate a tournament victory than with friends? Taken after the 2002 Belle Chere 7s Tournament in Asheville, where revenge was exacted for the previous year’s seeding.
This was PhotoShopped to make them look thin. Unfortunately, PhotoShop wasn’t as powerful a tool in 2002 as it is today. Notice the BFR flex–he had to make two extra stops at Shoney’s on the way back to Knoxville to recover the calories he burned in this exercise.
