Spring Rugby Practice Set to Start January 10th

 All current and potential players are expected to attend spring practices starting January 10th at 8 pm.  The training session will be at Crossfit Knoxville located at 9355 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN.  For more information email knoxvillerugby@gmail.com.

KRFC Names Rev. Steven Waller Team Chaplain

Rev. Waller is a graduate of Michigan State University (Ph.D.); Pittsburgh (M.Div.) and United Theological  (D.Min.) Seminaries where he specialized in pastoral care and counseling. He has also done clinical pastoral care in institutional and community-based settings.  As a dually ordained clergyperson, for two decades, Dr. Waller has served Baptist congregations as an assistant, associate and supply pastor. During this same period he has worked with high school, college and professional athletes on issues related to faith and sport.Currently, Dr. Waller is an associate professor in the sport management program at the University of Tennessee where he teaches courses in organizational management, finance, research methods in sport environments and religion and sport in global society. He also conducts research in the areas of: (1) personal spirituality and religious beliefs as constraints to negative sport behaviors; (2) training and credentialing  sport chaplains; and (3) pastoral theology and sport. Rev. Waller is also an active member of the Association of Professional Chaplains, American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Christian Society for Kinesiology, Leisure and Sport Studies.   His passions are family, the Church, work, college football (played at Ferris State University, many moons ago), tennis and golf.
