Possums Introduce New Head Coach

May 31st – Knoxville Rugby Football Club names William “Bill” Peterson head coach. Peterson brings nearly 40 years of rugby experience and knowledge as a player, coach, and referee to the Possums. Bill started playing rugby in 1972 at the University of Tennessee and served as Co-Captain of UTRFC his senior year of ’76 before moving to Nashville, and playing with the Nashville RFC from ’77-’82 and again ’88-’89. After moving back to Knoxville, Peterson soon online casino joined the coaching staff of the University of Tennessee Rugby Football Club where he served as an assistant coach for 10 years. Over the last seven years Bill took up the whistle and has served as a Mid South referee, treasurer of the Mid South Rugby Referee Society for 5 years, and most recently the 2010-11 Chairman of the Referee Society. Peterson and his wife Becky have one son, Eric (UTRFC 2002-2004). The Possums are excited to add Coach Peterson and his extensive rugby knowledge and enthusiasm to the club, and are looking forward to the upcoming season.
