The Possums lost their first match of the 2008 USA Rugby South matrix campaign 24-7 in Augusta Georgia. Missed tackles, three intercept tries run the length of the field … certainly wasn’t our day.
Noss made the comment that we should write it into the club’s bylaws that we have to play a preseason match before spring matrix starts … doesn’t seem like such a crazy idea at present.
Hopefully this defeat should help bring some intensity and focus to the next couple of practices … weather permitting, and we’ll be looking forward to giving the Augusta guys a warm welcome when they come to visit Possum Park later in the season.
Remember boys, there’s no shame in getting knocked down in a fight … it’s whether you get back up and what you do next that really count! See you at practice.
