The Knoxville Possums will travel to Greenville S.C. to take on the Griffins on April 14 in the USA Rugby South Division II quarterfinals. The winner of the match secures a spot in the USA Rugby South final four to be played in Columbus Georgia on April 28th.

Greenville locked up the #1 seed in the East pool by with a victory over Cape Fear on March 31. This matchup promises to be a very physical and exciting match. The clubs played a nail-biter in October in Greenville, and the annual match with the Griffins has become one of the staples and highlights of KRFC’s fall friendlies schedule. Although several matches have been close recently, Knoxville has not defeated Greenville in a 15s match since 1997.

In 2006 Knoxville qualified for the playoffs in its first year of DII play and was defeated in the quarterfinals by this year’s #2 East seed, the Charleston Outlaws.
