You know it’s going to be a long day when the first points against you are a pushover try. The boys from Knoxville were fired up for a big game against our long-time rivals, with visions of play-off glory in our heads. But alas the Greenville pack had other ideas and choked the life out of us at set plays. And thanks to the 12-4 penalty count in the first half they had plenty of set plays to work with. Our game plan was to stop the line-out maul (we did), stop the maul in open play (we did well enough) and avoid giving Greenville lineouts at all costs … this bit went to hell in a handbasket. With so little good ball to work with, our backs did well to score one try out wide from turnover ball (thanks Lucas) and Jallo slotted a penalty to send us in at halftime with a respectable scoreline of K8-G15.

Supporters Bus trip – Greenville April 14th

Attention Old Boys, Fans, Wives and Girlfriends. The club has organized a bus for the play-off match against the Greenville Griffins on April 14th. The bus will leave and return the same day from Coolbeans bar and grill. Stay tuned for departure times. This game is critical to the possums, so come on out and enjoy a great day of rugby and help support the team. –>Bus leaving at 8:00 AM sharp!! be there by 7.45 to load
Possums to Face Greenville for USARugby South Finals Spot

The Knoxville Possums will travel to Greenville S.C. to take on the Griffins on April 14 in the USA Rugby South Division II quarterfinals. The winner of the match secures a spot in the USA Rugby South final four to be played in Columbus Georgia on April 28th.

High School All-Stars Position Camp April 21

The Knoxville Rugby Club invites all area high school male ruggers to the second SMAC All-Star/All Conference camp on April 21 at Possum Park at 9:30 am. The camp will last approximately 2 hours and will focus on skills at individual positions.
