Thanks to all who played both A and B matches this past Saturday at Possum Park. As was discussed pre-game, selections have never been harder for A-side positions so congratulations to those who made it and “chins up” to those that didn’t. Hopefully this kind of competition will strengthen our club in the long run, and certainly there are several guys wanting to try out in new positions that need all the game experience they can get. A strong B-side will only make our whole club stronger, and is something I’ve always hoped we’d have.

That being said, our A-side played a tough match against an apparently “weakened” (according to their match report) Atlanta Renegades side. There were tries aplenty in the first half, not including “the one that got away” (you was robbed Ingle ). In the second half the 9-1 penalty count started to get us a little off our game, but we finished it out with a couple more tries so it’s hard to complain too much. The final score line of 47-8 is certainly impressive, but I think when we next play Renegades in Atlanta we better be ready because those guys are going to come out swinging!!

After watching the game tape, as always there is much we could improve on and need to do so before playing Nooga next weekend. So come on out to practice and work your arse off for that A-side spot … whatever does not kill you will only make “us” stronger.
