2006 Jingle Bell Run

On Sat Dec 9th, Knoxville Rugby will run the Jingle Bell 5k Run through downtown Knoxville. It starts at 10:00 at Barleys in the Old City. We will head to the bar at Barleys directly after the event in order to prepare for the X-mas party later that night.

Participants are automatically entered in the Ryan Ralph Miller Award competition. The RRMA was started in 2004 to honor the club member who demonstrates “the greatest accomplishments through the most arduous of means.” Its winner is selected based on his/her subjective performance in the Jingle Bell Run and the Christmas Party and is rewarded with a handsome mug to keep for 1 year.
Past winners have included Ryan Miller in 2004 who placed 3rd in the Jingle Bell Run in his age division but lost his number somewhere between the Start and Finish lines and was disqualified. The previous night he managed to pass out in the bathroom, break pictures off the wall, and spill candle wax in his hair. Jay McNabb took the award home in 2005 by drinking the most wing sauce and completing the race.
