Greenville Game, October 28, 2006

The following was taken from Pete’s match report on the message board…
losing sucks!!!!
some positives we can take away from this game …
1. Greeneville got the better of us yesterday and showed a lot of character as a team to win it in the second half. We had them on the ropes but just couldn’t seal the deal. I take comfort in knowing that we are pretty evenly matched with those guys, and next time will hopefully be a different story.
2. Anybody that had any doubts what kind of impact pissing a referee off could have … you got your answer yesterday. Yet to watch the game tape but when i do I’m gonna count the penalties and i’ll probably need a calculator to do it. I’m going to talk with the club officers and I hope we can come up with some very clear guidelines for “onfield” behavior and consequences for indiscretion. We trained too long and too hard and traveled too far to lose on game day because we can’t keep our mouths shut. Never again, not on my watch!!
3. God bless the Knoxville Colts for helping our club salvage some pride yesterday. Thanks to Bob H and Adcox for getting those guys on the field, and well done to the Colts who played some exciting rugby yesterday. You are our clubs future and it does my heart good to see you out there.
There’s plenty more that could be said about yesterday but it would mostly be whining and my head hurts too much to bother with that sh.t.
Thanks for training and playing hard this fall season guys.
I’ll bring game tapes to the AGM at Cool Beans on Thursday. See you there
